POSt... a blogger social

I attended my first blogger social last week.

My wonderful sister in law invited me to go with her and her sister in law.

We were a group of sister in laws. Funny.

 I wasn't really sure what to expect, but excited none the less.

The party was held at a wonderful new boutique called NEST

I found lots of things I would love to have in my home

Halloween... a week later

Last week was so crazy,
I am just now getting a chance to post Carter's Halloween photos.

Sorry...

but I assure you, they are worth the wait!

wonderful Cards...

One of my favorite Christmas "look for to's" is getting Christmas Cards! I so look forward to putting Carter's beautiful face on a card to send to everyone! And it's such a treat to get to see everyone's children and how much they have grown. I have to admit, I keep all the cards.  I just can't bring myself to throw them away. It always makesme smile when I start decorating our tree to find those cards and look back at all our favorite families.  I love sending cards because in the "sick kid" world, we don't live close to many of the wonderful people who we have become "family" with. My list grows a lot each year! But the great thing is that site's like Shutterfly make it easy and affordable to send lots and lots of cards.

the Dallas Arboretum...

you can't have halloween without a trip to the pumpkin path...

as always, the arboretum was draped in incredible color...

pumpkins, pumpkins, everywhere...

there's my beautiful smile...

we actually got a good family picture...

sharing a snack...

I just couldn't get enough of him...

looks so peaceful...

only seconds later, he rolled that poor pumpkin right down the stairs!

all done...

he lasted 3 hours... not bad for a 3 year old!

goodbye Mr. Pumpkin...

I would always recommend a trip to the Dallas Arboretum for every season!

the State Fair of texas...

We spend so much time going and coming that I thought
an afternoon out in the sun would do us some good

I hadn't been to the fair in years

And it would be Carter's first time

We got brave and thought we'd try Carter on a ride by himself...


We thought when it got going, he might like it better...

Somehow, I saw that going differently in my head...

So after the trauma of the ride, we checked out the automobile building.
Things were much happier there.



Until Sean decided to try to win the Tundra in the football toss...



Yep, that's a football on the path to a direct hit of my child.
(I would like to add I am getting better with my stop/action shots!
My photography teacher will be proud!)

Carter decided he might be safer inside the game!

it was a beautiful day
